Cinematic Arts Mentor Program

OUR STORY - We are a non profit organization that recognizes creatives. We showcase filmmaker’s works from around the world at our annual festival in Hermosa Beach, California. We realized that we have the means, mentorship and access to equipment and industry professionals to help young filmmakers see their project on the big screen.

WHAT WE DO - We developed a Cinematic Arts Program for young filmmakers looking to expand their hands on knowledge of the art of filmmaking from script development to final cut.

WHO WE ARE - We are a non profit film festival that focuses on showcasing independent films and promotes all aspects of filmmaking.

OUR MENTEES - We welcome all walks of life that are interested in making films. Our typical class of mentees consists of high school students that come to us via referral or have volunteered or attended a past festival.

HANDS ON PROJECTS - Our projects are all hands on. This is a learn-by-doing program.

HOW ARE WE DIFFERENT - We are lucky to be able to have industry professionals in our area that generously offer their time and expertise to our mentees. This gives us the opportunity to offer 1:1 mentoring.

HOW YOU CAN HELP - Volunteer to be a Mentor! Donate or allow our program access to your professional equipment (lights, sound equipment, edit bay, cameras, costumes, props...).

OUR LEGACY - Past mentees include graduates from NYU Film School School, USC Film School, Chapman University, Dodge College of Media Arts, Sarah Lawrence/Prague Film School, and current attendees at Savannah College of Art and Design, University of Texas at Austin, and University of Oregon.

Interested in applying? Drop us a line, tell us your favorite movie, and you’re in. We will get back to you with program details. It’s as easy as that. Everyone is welcome!
